I often get asked where are the best places to buy affordable, good quality craft supplies. I get asked this a lot! So because I’m nice that way, I’m going to tell you.

I have updated this list to include both physical shops and online suppliers. And since I first created it in 2014 many shops have closed down and new ones opened.  

While you just can’t beat an actual bricks and mortar shop where you can spend endless time wandering up and down the aisles in search of and finding INSPIRATION, online especially in times like these is saving our creativity. 

And it is fantastic to see so many little shops adapting to online, to keep supplying their customers.

Here are my top 7 favourite places to source craft supplies.

CORK ART SUPLIES 

26-28 Princes Street, Cork Map Location

I love this shop. I only use their website but if I am ever in Cork I will deinitely pop in. A fantastic resource for a wide variety of arts and craft supplies. They stock all the main brands of artists supplies like daler rowney and also have supplies for model making, scrapbooking and etching to name but a few. A top class resource and I have always found them to be reliable and quick to deliver.

Great for: artists supplies, an awkward to find craft supply that you can’t find anywhere else. Bulk purchases

GET CREATIVE

WELL RED 

This shop used to be a bricks and mortar business but is now just online. 

Great for: Birthday Party Favours, good value gifts for children, general art supplies and gifts. They stock the Melissa and Doug range.

 EVANS EDUCATIONAL

Unit 8, Northern Cross Business Park, N Rd, Finglas, Co. Dublin Map Location

I don’t use Evans any more but when I was starting out and buying supplies like brushes, scissors, paint and glue pots I got them all from here.

Although I have noticed they are now veering more towards educational tools for schools ( a lot of teachers would buy from here) you can check out their website before you make the trip there to see what they have.

Great for: Bulk purchases, educational tools, craft equipment (pots, brushes, hole punches etc)

KM Evans – Dublin and Online

Excellent range of art suppies, great for fine art supplies

Very good website. Parking is tricky near the shop so I recommend online or if visiting the shop go by foot.

Klee – Ecoland

Based in Dublin they have an amazing range of all things recycled. I get all my coloured paper and white paper for the classes and camps here as it is 100% recycled. Yes I pay more, but its something that is really important to me. So I think its worth it.

Recreate

A recycled material membership programme. I love the concept behind this. I was a member for a good few years. I paused my membership last year as I actually found I had so many materials I was stock piling I wanted to try and use what I had. Before I got more. But its a wonderful way to use what is already out there. I would always say only take what you need. Its like going into a sweet factory, you will want to use it all. But dont get overwhelmed and stock pile too much!
