Summer Camps FAQ’s

Your summer camp questions answered

  • All camps are 5 days, Monday to Friday
  • There are 3 camp group options this year. 
  • Week 1,4,6 there is a 4-6 year old camp and a  7-12 year old camp group. 
  • Week 2,,3,5 there is ONE group age 5-11 years old.
  • Age 4-6 camp is 3 hours long 10am to 1pm
  • All other camp groups are 4 hours long, 10am to 2pm.

  • This gives you access to the TCC Club loyalty code
  • The Junior camp 10am – 1pm cost per child is €150 Full retail or €135 at the TCC Club price
  • All 10:00 to 14:00 camps are €167 Full retail or €150.30 at the TCC Club price
  • There is a €5 sibling discount for siblings in the same camp group (must be in the one booking)

What we do at camp

  • We start the week with a creative ice breaker project designed to get kids mixing
  • We will do 3 main projects over the course of the week
  • We will also have independent creative stations with guides for students to create by themselves, these are a mix of 3D, painting and drawing projects
  • Our main projects are designed to progress your child’s art skills, while being fun and engaging and are based around the art curriculum. 
  • We will also mix in some smaller projects designed for group play
  • We have two snack breaks each day, both incorporate outdoor play time
  • The Junior Camp projects will be tailored to that younger age group (4-6yrs old

What camp is suitable for my child

  • If your child is age 4 then the camp groups in week 1,4 or 6 will be perfect for them
  • If your child is age 5 you can book them into the above Age 4-6 camp or the age 5-11 camps in week 2,3 or 5.

 

  • I recommend the 4-6 year old camp if you child has never done a camp before as the groups are smaller and the projects based more around creative play.

 

  • The age 4-6 camps are ideal for kids who will be starting school in September.

What happens if I book two different groups?

I have had a few questions about siblings being in different groups.
.
If you want them all to be in the one group you can book one of the 5-11 year old camps.
.
But if you book one into the 4-6 years camp and another into the 7-12 camp they will be in rooms right beside each other and we will have a shared break time during the camp day.

For the first 3 booking with children split between the groups your younger child can stay until 2pm for free.

What will they do? We will have some tidy up games for them to do, on some days they can join the older group. On other days we will have some games and fun activities for them to do.

This is ONLY available to a limited number of bookings and exclusively for those on the mailing list

Can I stay with my child?

Unless you are acting as your child’s SNA* then I’m afraid not. Of course if your child is nervous on the first day parents can come in and see the space but we then recommend that if possible you leave them to get to know other children.

On day one in particular we do ice breaker art activities and get to know you games so its best if parents are not there as the kids then will break out of their shells more.

We get lots of shy kids in art camp and are teachers are experts at helping them along! They are in good hands.

*We advise that if your child needs an SNA in school you will need to provide one for art camp. This is for the wellbeing of your child and we hope you understand

Do you take children younger than 5?

.
Yes we do. This is exactly why we created the younger camp groups.
.
In week one, three and six we have smaller camp groups for children age 4 to 6 years old.
.
Your child MUST be 4 at the time of starting the camp and used to a creche/pre school environment.
.
To attend any of the 5+ camps your child must be 5 years old at the time of the camp starting (day 1)

What if I book now but need to cancel later?

There is a non refundable €20 admin fee for any cancellations.
.
If you cancel your booking 14 days before the camp begins you will get a full refund minus the €20 admin fee. This is per booking not per child.
.
Less then 2 weeks to go and if I can fill the space then I will give you a full refund otherwise there will be a non refundable charge of 50%
.
If you cancel within 72 hours of the camp beginning the full amount paid is liable
