What will your child learn in Art class?

Each of our art class age groups will learn curriculum based art lessons tailored to their age group and abilities. Class stizes are kept small so each of our art students can get one to one attention and teaching. We offer a varied range of art lessons from painting to drawing, 3D building, collage, art history and much more.

Class Groups and Times

2.30pm class is for Junior and Senior infant students. This is  a shorter 45 minute creative class designed specifically for this age group. We keep the projects engaging, fun and creative.

3.40pm class is for students in 1st to 6th class, its a great class for students in that age range who have NEVER done an art class before. We make sure to tailor the projects to the ages and abilities in the current class group. We cover plenty of  ground each term, looking at famous artist studies, principles of art and design, art skills, how to use different art materials and how to problem solve.

5pm class is our advanced art class for students in 3rd class and upwards. With a strong focus on strengthening our art skills and starting to find our own artistic voice

Class Age Groups: What we cover

For our junior art class we very much focus on building your child’s creative confidence, focusing on the building blocks of art. Fine motor skills, colour mixing and theory, 3D construction. We mix in elements of art history, famous artists and art skills in a fun, easy to understand way. Each class builds on the last and each term we reinforce the skills learnt before.

For the 1st to 6th class we focus more on drawing, still in a fun engaging manner designed to help your child learn more about art while still having fun along the way. We have a mix of painting, drawing and 3d building each term.

For our 3rd class + we really start to focus in on our drawing and fine art skills. We start to challenge our students to find their own creative voice. Testing their skills with projects that will sometimes take more than one class to complete and will combine a number of skills lessons in one. This older class is ideal for older children to help strengthen the foundation of their creativity.
